Freedom Fibre’s first apprentice!

Freedom Fibre has welcomed its first apprentice to the team this week. Mia Foxcroft has joined us for a 12-month apprenticeship in the Enterprise IT team as a Support Technician.

This role will see Mia actively monitor and progress all service desk tickets raised via our internal Support Desk system.

The apprenticeship involves on-the-job learning as well as off-the-job training through virtual sessions every six weeks and the programme is made up of four modules. Mia will achieve an Information Communications Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship at the end of the programme.

When asked how her first week was going, Mia said, “It’s been great, everyone has been really friendly and welcoming. The induction was very informative and warming and I liked the Freedom Fibre branded bag with the water bottle, mouse mat and notepad and pen inside. It was a nice touch and made me feel like part of the team straight away. The Enterprise IT team have made me feel at home and are being supportive. I like that the role is varied, and I’ll get a lot of experience working on different issues - no day will be the same.”

Mia studied IT at college and after working as a restaurant manager has circled back to her preferred profession within IT. She is extremely interested in the Telecoms sector and her future career aspirations are to work on troubleshooting and resolving issues with the broadband network.

Freedom Fibre's HR Advisor, Joanna Hunt, said, "We're so proud to welcome our first apprentice into the Freedom Fibre team. Mia is a very capable and hard-working young lady who we knew would fit right into our IT team and grow and develop. This is just the beginning of our apprenticeship story with many more to come."

Good luck with your apprenticeship Mia!
