Stakeholder Engagement Officer, Manchester




The Role

  • To support the Stakeholder Engagement Lead in providing effective stakeholder management, including keeping key stakeholders such as local authority officers, politicians and residents’ groups fully informed of Freedom Fibre’s plans.

  • Help deliver the organisation’s PR and Engagement Strategy, such developing and delivering engagement events, creating communications collateral, supporting the delivery of The Freedom Fund and providing administrative support.

  • To support the Stakeholder Engagement Lead in maintaining and building on Freedom Fibre’s positive reputation locally, regionally and across the industry, including generating positive coverage of Freedom Fibre and its plans and ambitions, and quick and effective issue management.


Core Responsibilities

  • Support the Stakeholder Engagement Lead in delivering Freedom Fibre’s Corporate Affairs and Engagement Strategy.

  • Help to plan and deliver successful PR and engagement events and campaigns, such as visits with key stakeholders.

  • Maintain Freedom Fibre’s stakeholder map/database

  • Support the organisation’s social value strategy

  • Ensure the effective management and promotion of The Freedom Fund

  • Contribute to keeping key stakeholders (such as politicians, officers, third-sector groups, and residents) informed of Freedom Fibre’s plans

  • Handling and responding to enquiries from key stakeholders

  • Develop a network of contacts in build/operational areas

  • Undertake research in new build/operational areas

  • Help with the successful planning and delivery of public relations campaigns

  • Produce first draft communications collateral, such as press releases and presentations

  • Keep track of ongoing projects and issues

  • Provide reactive communications support when required

  • Be a brand ambassador

Stakeholder Engagement Lead



Skill and Experience

  • Experience of writing/engagement is desirable

  • Experience in PR and/or politics is desirable

  • Understanding of local and regional politics is desirable


Qualifications

  • Relevant University degree or relevant experience working in Communications/Public Relations
